A MAN has died following an incident outside a pub in South Gloucestershire, police have said.
Emergency services attended the scene in the car park of The Kings Arms in Pilning early on Saturday morning, March 2 following reports of an assault.
Avon and Somerset Police say 46-year-old Scott Hendy was taken to Southmead Hospital with a suspected head injury.
He tragically died in hospital yesterday, Sunday March 3.
A police spokesperson said: "Sadly the 46-year-old died in hospital yesterday. His next of kin are aware.
"Our thoughts are with them and they are receiving specialist support from family liaison officers.
"A forensic post-mortem examination will be conducted."
Meanwhile, George Baylis, of Redwick Road, Pilning, was charged with grievous bodily harm without intent prior to Mr Hendy’s death.
The 29-year-old appeared at Bristol Magistrates Court today (Monday, March 4) where an alternative charge of manslaughter was put before the court.
Baylis was remanded and will next appear at Bristol Crown Court on Monday, April 8.
