Rose Bowl award for Dursley thespians
DURSLEY Operatic and Dramatic Society are celebrating after winning a coveted prize for stage lighting in the annual Rose Bowl awards.
The society, popularly known as the DODS, won the stage electrics award for technical achievement for their diamond anniversary production of The Sound of Music, one of three nominations the society received.
The prestigious regional amateur theatre awards were presented on Sunday, October 13, at a gala dinner at the Winter Gardens in Weston-super-Mare.
Stage director Mike Graham said they were delighted to win the award.
“The Sound of Music was a whole team effort from the beginning,” he said.
“The lighting designer and his team as well as the backstage crew, set and costume designers and director all worked hard to create the effects that our audiences saw. This award is a fitting tribute to the dedication and skill of all those involved.
"We're always looking for new people to help with lighting so if anyone is interested in joining an award winning production team then please get in contact.”
