POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a female motorist was the victim of anti-social driving in South Gloucestershire.

The victim was driving along Southmead Road towards the A4174 ring road at about 11.30pm on Tuesday, December 10 in her blue Subaru Impreza.

She noticed a silver Nissan Micra driving nearby. The Nissan was described as an older model with a number of dents in the body work.

As the victim drove past KFC towards Abbeywood, the driver of the Nissan put on its full beam headlight while at the same time a black VW Golf, containing four people, overtook the victim and pulled in front of her, forcing her to brake.

A police spokesman said: “When the Subaru went past McDonalds the victim noticed the same VW Golf stop in front of her. A man got out of the car and approached the victim’s car, forcing her to mount the kerb to avoid him.

“She drove off towards the Abbeywood roundabout where she turned on to Great Stoke Way with the Nissan Micra still behind. The victim accelerated away from the two cars.”

The man who got out of the VW Golf is described as a white man, with stubble and wearing a hooded jacket. He was described as being of stocky build.

Officers are keen to talk to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and who may have information to help our inquiries. Anyone able to help is asked to contact South Gloucestershire CID on the force number 101.
