A FORMER supermarket manager has been selected as the Conservatives’ new parliamentary candidate for Thornbury and Yate.
Luke Hall was voted into the prospective MP’s role earlier this month.
Luke, who lives in Westerleigh, has worked his way up from the shop floor in the Yate branch of Lidl to now run the Farmfood supermarket chain in the South West.
He will be campaigning to become the constituency’s new MP in 2015.
Luke is no stranger to local politics having campaigned with Chris Skidmore MP to protect the green belt in south Gloucestershire and improve local transport services. He said: "I believe it is hugely important that we have a credible and local candidate. “I grew up locally, went to school locally and I'm delighted to have been chosen to represent this wonderful area.”
He added: “I'm going to spend the next 18 months listening to people in the constituency and I cannot be more delighted to be its candidate."
