A SMALL dog has been rescued after becoming trapped between the wall of a house and a neighbouring garden.
Firefighters responded to a call to Kestrel Close in Yate at about 10.20pm last night after reports that a dog, a poodle names Lulu, had become stuck in a gap about three metres from the exit.
The crew spend 15 minutes coaxing the pet from the gap with a combination of food and a pole.
The dog did not belong to residents on either side.
Reports of a missing dog on social media enabled the crew to track down the pet’s owner.
A spokesman said: “Local people were aware of a missing dog because of reports on social media. We delivered the dog to its relieved owner who lived a few streets away.”
