A BAKERY in Chipping Sodbury is challenging children to their very Great British Bake Off during half-term.

Hobbs House is holding a free day of culinary competitions on Thursday, February 20 (from 10am) when youngsters will be encouraged to learn new baking skills.

Children can rise to the challenge of designing their own birthday cake (10am) with the winner seeing their design baked to perfection. Or they can enter a bake off contest (11am) by bringing in their own cake on the theme of a Great British cake and expert bakers will cook their own version and choose a winner, who will receive a place on a children’s course of their choice at the bakery.

Finally there will be a piping skills session (2pm) to include a lesson on decorating and children can take their own cupcake or biscuit home.

The bakery’s resident TV star and one half of the Fabulous Baker Brothers will also be showcasing his skills over the half-term holidays.

Tom Herbert is holding a free pizza-making workshop on Monday, February 17 (11am- 2pm) when he will teach youngsters how to make, spin, decorate and taste the most bodacious pizzas.
