TWO men were knocked unconscious in what is believed to have been an unprovoked attack in Yate.

The men, aged 24 and 25, were attacked by four offenders as they walked along the road towards Ridgeway, on The Ridge, at around 2.30am on Saturday.

Both the men were struck on the back of their heads and knocked unconscious during the assault.

A police spokesman said: “One victim was also kicked in the face while both received gashes to their head and face which required stiches.

“One victim also sustained three broken teeth during the assault.

“The offenders fled in the direction of Bowling Hill following the attack. One of the offenders has been described as a white male wearing a grey hooded top and aged around 18 to 19 years old.

“Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, who may have seen anything which could help us with our investigation.”
