THE A46 near Tetbury was closed earlier this afternoon after a lorry collided with a car and then fell on its side at the Bowldown Road crossroads.

The accident between a Daf truck and a Vauxhall Insignia happened at 12.45pm today (Wednesday, March 26) on the A46 and the road was closed until 2.30pm.

The driver of the lorry, a man, was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. The driver of the Vauxhall, a 39-year-old man from Avening was taken to Stroud hospital with injuries which were not serious.

Police attended the scene as there was debris from the lorry and fuel on the road. BT also attended as there was damage to a telegraph pole.
