THE sun came out just in time for the annual Severn Beach Primary School fair after a morning of thunderstorms.
Only some activities moved indoors because of the weather, which failed to deter visitors to the event at the school in Ableton Lane.
Executive head teacher, Paul Overton, said: "It was a fabulous day, with a huge tethered hot air balloon very popular, especially with the children.
"Lydney Training Band performed for us and were wonderful. There was also street dancing involving a lot of local children and lots of stalls and sideshows, with games such as Beat the Goalie and Catch the Rat."
Mr Overton praised the hard work of the school's Friends group, which organised the fair, and parents of pupils who contributed to its success. Money raised from the event will be used for projects supported by the Friends to help the school.
