A COLLISION between two cars outside Whitminster Hotel saw both drivers rushed to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with head and neck injuries.

The incident on the A38 at around 11am on Sunday, August 3 saw a Volvo Estate registered to Newent and a Honda Jazz from Bristol collide, with the Volvo driver's injuries considered minor.

However the Honda driver suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and both were taken to hospital.

Firefighters from Gloucester South Fire Station were sent and helped one female casualty get out of her car before the crew disconnected the battery and washed down the highway.
