THE family of celebrated English sculptor Lyn Chadwick are opening Lypiatt Park estate for a one-off public event to mark 100 years since his birth.  

Lynn, who was born on November 24, 1914 and passed away on April 25, 2003 aged 88, was an English sculptor and artist best known for his semi-abstract bronze and steel sculptures.

Chadwick’s work is in most major collections around the world, including MoMA, New York, the Tate Gallery, London, and the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris.

Lypiatt Park near Stroud, is now owned by Lyn's son and fellow artist Dan. 

The park will be open to the public for a special event between 2pm and 6pm on Sunday, September 14.

The park, now acts as a setting for 32 pieces of his work, is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is also a nature reserve.

Admission is by pre-booked tickets only. The tickets are free of charge and an application form can be collected from Stroud Tourist Information office from Monday, September 1.

Tickets will be posted out on a first-come-first served basis.
