POLICE investigating the death of a man in a car fire on Rodborough Common in Stroud this morning are currently treating the circumstances of his death as unknown.
Officers were called by the fire service to a 4x4 vehicle that was alight on Rodborough Common in Stroud at 4.55am today, Wednesday, and discovered a body in the car shortly after arrival.
While formal identification is not yet possible, detectives have made contact with the next of kin of the registered owner, a man from Hertfordshire.
Road closures remain in place while forensic and other inquiries continue at the scene.
Anyone who saw the vehicle in the area in the early hours or has any information about the incident should call 101, quoting incident 50 of October 29.
