POLICE officers in South Gloucestershire had a taste of Hollywood when a real life superhero dropped in for a visit.

Incredible Hulk actor Lou Ferrigno proved to be a star attraction when he visited Patchway Custody Centre.

The Hulk was in Bristol filming a movie called Instant Death and asked his producers if he could visit a UK police station.

In real life, actor and champion body builder Lou is a Special Deputy Sheriff back home in Delaware County, Ohio, and was interested in seeing how we operate here.

Custody Sergeant Martin Fox made the arrangements and on Friday (August 28)  Lou, his film director and a small entourage arrived at Patchway for a look around.

Sgt Fox said: “He seemed impressed with our facilities and, being who he was, also generated a lot of phone camera frenzy from the police and staff in custody and the main station as I took him on a guided tour.

"He was welcoming to the staff and took all the requests for autographs and photos in good spirit.”

Instant Death will be released escape next year and wraps up filming this week, in Bristol, without Lou who has now flown home.
