A TEENAGER from Berkeley accused of unlawfully wounding a man and breaching a restraining order was cleared today when the prosecution dropped the case against him at Gloucester Crown Court.
Prosecutor Greg Gordon said he was not proceeding against Kodi Campbell, 19, of Church View, Newport, Berkeley, because Crown witnesses had failed to attend for the trial due to begin today.
Witness summonses had been issued but the they had refused to attend, he said.
"The prosecution has considered the case in view of the absence of the witnesses and has decided not to proceed," he said.
Last August he pleaded not guilty today to unlawfully wounding a man on July 21.
He also denied contacting a woman on the same date in breach of a restraining order imposed on him in November 2015.
Today Judge Michael Harington formally declared Campbell not guilty of both offences and he was discharged.
