POLICE are appealing for help to trace the rightful owners of several pieces of jewellery.

Officers have seized a bangle, a ring with a blue stone, two crosses on chains, a ring with blue and white stones set in a flower design, a ring with nine white stones set in a square, yellow metal ring with three white stones and an engraved ring.

The collection also features a necklace and a charm bracelet with charms including an owl, an ice skate, a penny-farthing bicycle and a claw.

There are also two small pendants, each about the size of a postage stamp, with religious images on each side and a box from a jeweller in Cyprus.

DS Mat Lloyd said: “We have reason to think this jewellery may have been stolen as we seized it while making enquiries into a burglary. If the items are stolen, they could have been taken from the South Gloucestershire, Bristol or Bath and North East Somerset areas.

“We know that jewellery can be of sentimental value and we’d like to make sure it goes back to the rightful owner. If you recognise the jewellery, please contact PC 778 Gary Clark at Concorde House, either online or by calling 101.”

We recommend keeping jewellery in a safe which has been tested to a ‘Sold Secure’ standard and keeping a description and photographs of your jewellery to help trace it if it is stolen.
