NATIONAL Trust property Dyrham Park will host an autumnal food festival later this month.

The Baroque period country estate will be the setting for the Love Food Festival on Sunday, September 28 (10am-4pm).

The festival, which is held regularly at the park as well as other locations across Bristol, will celebrate autumn and the harvest and feature food stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, chutneys and preserved, rare meat, cheeses and homemade cakes.

Hungry shoppers will have plenty of breakfast and lunch options to choose from including Italian treats, barbecue food and street dishes.

There will also be a homemade competition where visitors can showcase their own delicacies and produce. The festival will also include a children’s area where youngsters will be able to make crafts, autumnal pictures and kites and flags, plant acorns and take part in the market quiz.

A bushcraft expert will be on hand to teach visitors some outdoor survival skills, fire lighting techniques and how to prepare game.

Love Food Festival founder Lorna Knapman said: “I love this time of year and look forward to celebrating harvest time with some great producers at Dyrham Park.

“Food lovers of all ages will be delighted with the array of food and activities on offer. The homemade competition also returns this year and I'm excited to see what entries we have. Last year was great fun.”
