FIREFIGHTERS tackled a house set on fire by an electronic cigarette charger in Bath.

At 11.06am yesterday morning the fire and rescue was called to reports of a fire at a house on Boyce Close, in the Twerton area of Bath, with calls suggesting there were still people inside the property.

Three crews attended the incident and once on scene they forced entry into the house to find it to be unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Firefighters used high pressure hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire.

Extensive damage was caused to the living room by the fire and smoke damage was found around the property.

It is believed the fire was started accidentally as a result of an electronic cigarette charger.
