Intrigued by report

SIR - I refer to last week's edition of the Gazette (Page 9 - Booted Out).

Personally I have no strong feelings concerning the car boot sales.

However what intrigues me is that your report states "Planners said the sales were inappropriate development within Green Belt land and would have an adverse effect on the landscape".

From this statement, is it sensible to assume that the "development" at the Westerleigh end of Nibley Lane, ie car sales, firework sales etc, and the continuing encroachment of redundant agricultural equipment, is NOT inappropriate development and does NOT have an adverse effect on the landscape?

Puzzled, Yate, Name and address withheld.
