With the Reds

After getting off to the worst possible start last weekend, City emerged with a point despite going a goal down inside three minutes away to Rushden and Diamonds.

Lee Miller,s seventh strike of the season giving the visiting supporters something to cheer about in the seventieth minute when he hit home from six yards out.

Daniel Talbot put Rushden ahead early on following Onandi Lowe,s header coming off the post. Although Diamonds had a player sent off in injury time City were unable to claim the three points.

Tuesday night saw the FA Cup Second Round replay between City and Barnsley finish in disappointment for the Robins as Barnsley ran out winners 2-1. Wilson fielded an unchanged side from that which earned a draw at Rushden last Saturday.

Two first half goals for Barnsley put them very much in the driving seat. But a spirited second half performance from City gave the home team a run for their money, and the game became fairly tense after substitute Christian Roberts pulled a goal back for the visitors. But Barnsley hung on to secure their place in the Third Round of the FA Cup.

This weekend,s fixture with struggling Stockport County should result in a home win for City. But Danny Wilson may have picked up on County,s recent form, like City they have lost just once in their last six games. Stockport have not lost on their travels since the end of September, even if their league position suggests otherwise.

After last Saturday City occupy ninth place now ten points adrift of leaders Queens Park Rangers. Danny Wilson has told the club,s website that he is becoming concerned with the increasing gap between City and the automatic promotion places, ,,It is a concern that the gap is wide, but there is a long way to go and I don,t think the table at the moment offers a true reflection of how we have been playing. PER MILLE City have been playing well of late but have not really been picking up the points they have done; they are drawing games they should be winning, and losing to teams they should at least be picking up a point against.
