ARE you a former shop-keeper in Yate or Chipping Sodbury? Do you remember how things used to be before scanners and check-outs, internet ordering and same day delivery?
Yate Heritage Centre is looking into the past world of shopping in the area and the future of it as we prepare to go into 2004.
People who have previously worked in shops on Station Road or Yate Shopping Centre and on Chipping Sodbury High Street are wanted.
Community heritage officer David Hardill said: "The idea is to go and interview former shop workers and discover how work in shops, and shops themselves, have changed.
"An exhibition will also take in the history of the town's markets and shop deliveries so I would like to hear from anyone involved in these."
Employers and employees with comparisons between the shopping of yesteryear and today can contact Mr Hardill on 01454 862200 or visit the heritage centre on Church Road.
