Facial injury mars game

Berkeley Town 4 Brimscombe & Thrupp 1

THIS game was marred by hospitalisation with severe facial injuries for Berkeley player Jason Tucker and his team-mates all send him their best wishes.

This was one of Berkeley's best performances this season and the win was well deserved. The scorers were Richard Langford and Jason Tucker with two goals each.

Langford scored first, 20 minutes into the game, set up by Tucker. A quarter of an hour later it was Langford's turn to put Tucker through to slot past the keeper.

Just before half-time Tucker scored his second, firing in from the edge of the box from Langford's cross.

Brimscombe pressed hard after the break and within five minutes pulled a goal back with a header from a corner for 3-1.

With some 15 minutes to go, Langford wrapped up the scoring at 4-1 with a goal straight from a 25 yard free kick.

This Saturday, Berkeley travel to Cam for the big game.
