Vision for the future

RESIDENTS wanting to comment on the development of Cam, Dursley and district over the next 20 years can do so during a public meeting tomorrow.

Vale Vision, the working group set up to develop the Market and Coastal Towns Initiative Partnership for Dursley district, has finished consulting residents and will present its findings in Dursley Community Centre tomorrow.

A full programme has been planned for the meeting, which will outline the group's blueprint for future regeneration of the district.

The day starts at 10am with an exhibition of the group's progress to date. There will be flipcharts for people to add their comments to the work and opportunities for people to get involved with the group.

At 10.30am Cllr Geoff Wheeler will open the event and introduce the group and its work.

The main regeneration issues have been divided in to different areas and will form the basis for three cluster group discussions starting with business, tourism and transport (11am) followed by physical environment and our beautiful surroundings (11.25am) and finishing with healthy living, social needs and community (11.50am).

At 12.30pm there will an open discussion where people can outline what they think of the group's work and the plan.

The meeting will conclude at around 12.55pm, when people will be invited to help and support the work of Vale Vision.

Everyone is invited to attend the event, crche facilities will be provided by the GL11 Project and there will be tea and coffee and live music.
