ATC looking for help

THE ANNUAL meeting of 649 (Dursley) Squadron Air Training Corps will be held on Monday, March 1 (8.30pm) at headquarters in Kingshill Lane, Dursley - and the group would especially like to hear from people interested in becoming involved in the committee or as a civilian instructor.

For more information they should contact secretary Jane Wellings (tel 01453 543110).

The squadron is also keen to recruit young people aged 13-18, who are looking for adventure and gaining valuable life skills.

The cadets meet twice a week and regularly have the opportunity to go gliding and flying. At present the squadron is working on the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

Forthcoming activities planned so far this year will be a visit to the helicopter museum at RAF Locking and a summer camp at an RAF station.

Anyone interested in attending this meeting will be welcome, while for more information they can contact Warrant Officer Chris Whatling (tel 07746915848).
