ART for the community is being invited for a new exhibition at Under the Edge Arts in Wotton-under-Edge.
Organiser Rob Collins said: "Following the success of our recent postcard art exhibition, Under the Edge Arts invites artists of all ages and abilities to contribute to our next open show - an exhibition of portraits of Wotton people, a celebration of our community here."
The exhibition will take place during the weekend of March 6 and March 7, open from noon to 5pm on both days.
Rob, a professional artist who lives in Wotton-under-Edge, said: "Portraits
should be self-portraits, by people who live in Wotton, or portraits of Wotton people."
There is no size limit and artists can submit as many portraits as they like.
Mr Collins added: "Until we are able to install an effective hanging system at the Arts Centre we cannot easily hang framed works, so portraits must be unmounted and on paper - exhibits can be in any medium, drawing, painting, pastel, photographs, collage.
"Use your imagination - perhaps try making a silhouette portrait or hand or foot prints. Portraits in words are also welcome, a description of someone you know or a poem, perhaps."
At the postcard exhibition last month many people said: "This is great, I wish I had made the effort to do something myself, or got the kids to put something
in'.
Mr Collins said: "This is another chance to take part in a community exhibition, don't miss the opportunity this time round.
"You don't have to be an accomplished artist to exhibit - all work will be welcome and will be exhibited: the broader the cross section of the community we have exhibiting, the better the show will be."
The artist's name should be on the front of the work, with an accompanying sentence or more about the sitter.
Exhibits can be handed in at the Arts Centre (The Chipping Hall) or taken to 4 Parklands by Wednesday, March 3.
Exhibits will not be for sale and can be reclaimed by the artists at the end of the exhibition.
