Aim is better quality of county life

PEOPLE are being asked to give their opinions on a number of issues affecting their everyday lives.

The Gloucestershire Strategic Partnership is currently consulting on what it has identified as five priority areas, which it claims, if improved, could mean a real improvement in the quality of life for county people.

The partnership has been meeting since June, 2002, with the aim of compiling a community strategy for Gloucestershire.

The five priority areas of action the group has identified are the problem of substance - drug and alcohol - misuse, the promotion of more sustainable lifestyles, improved transport and access to services, the provision of affordable housing, reduction of social exclusion and targeting of disadvantaged communities, groups and families.

The consultation closes on Friday, March 12 and questionnaires have been distributed to interested agencies across the county.

Questions include whether the priorities fit in with partners' strategies, could plans and strategies of other groups include any of the five priorities and can other agencies contribute to delivering progress in any of the five priority areas.
