Hairdresser takes plunge

A HAIRDRESSER and businesswoman from Wotton-under-Edge is about to take the plunge - abseiling down the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

Margery Cole, better known as Marge from Scissor Scene, celebrated her 60th birthday two years ago by doing a wing walk - walking on the wing of an aeroplane in flight.

That had been an ambition for ten years, and, once achieved, doing an abseil was Mrs Cole's next plan.

She said: "I wasn't frightened at all about the wing walk, but this challenge feels a bit different, My daughter, Melanie Millichap, who's already done bungie and parachute jumps, will be going down with me, which should help - and I'm hoping once we're over the edge my fear will go."

The abseil, down the 90ft building, will take place on Saturday, March 20, in aid of the hospital renal unit.

Anyone wishing to sponsor Margery Cole can contact her at the salon on 01453 842985 or at home on 01453 842961.
