RESIDENTS are being asked to help clear up their village as part of a national spring clean.
Charfield Parish Council discussed the growing litter problem in the village during last week's meeting.
Chairman Cllr John Acton said he was keen to see a village clear up.
"I think the litter situation has deteriorated over the last 12 months and there is now an enormous amount of rubbish," he said. "I think we should encourage people to join in the event to improve the appearance of the village."
Residents are being rallied to join in the event on Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25.
Poster are going to be put up around the village nearer the event to advertise times and meeting places.
At next month's Charfield Parish Council councillors will co-ordinate volunteers to help organise the litter-pick.
