Callers are sent packing

POLICE have praised two members of the public for adhering to warnings about bogus callers.

A woman from The Croft, Cam, turned three men away from her door who said they would do gardening work and she also received a visit from someone who said they were selling burglar alarms.

A report was also made to the police by a 73-year-old Cam man who was given threats and verbal abuse over the telephone after he turned down the offer of alterations to his house from a caller.

Sgt Neil Gibbs said: "We would appreciate it if the public could let us know if they get any strange callers."
