Pair honoured for community work

TWO Leslie D Gale Awards for services to the community of Dursley were presented at the town's annual meeting . The first went to Dursley resident Brenda Butt, who was nominated for her many years of fundraising and charity work for organisations such as the Royal British Legion, Cotswold Vale Talking Newspaper and Kingshill House.

She was presented with her award by Town Mayor Cllr Timothy Frankau. Former town clerk Mary Morgan was the other recipient of the award for her ten years of service to Dursley Town Council.

Mrs Morgan, who retired in November, paid tribute to the people of the town on collecting her award from Cllr Frankau.

She said: "It was my pleasure to serve the people of Dursley and I wish Dursley all the very best for the future."
