Improving service

PUNCTUALITY and reliability of trains stopping at Cam and Dursley station has improved significantly, according to a station action group.

Coaley Junction Action Committee has reported that March was the best month in four years for trains stopping in the station.

CoJAC spokesman Dr Clive Mowforth sent an email of congratulations to train operator Wessex Trains after the announcement about last month's figures collected by the group.

He said: "This was arguably the best month for four years with punctuality - proportion of trains within five minutes of right time - on target at 92 percent and reliability -proportion of scheduled trains that ran - at 100 percent."

Dr Mowforth added that next month is a momentous one. "It would be good if it could be sustained, or improved, for the 10th anniversary next month of Cam & Dursley station's opening," he stated.
