DURSLEY'S Liberal Democrat councillor Brian Marsh says he is raring to get back into his duties with Stroud District Council and Dursley Town Council after his recent heart scare.
Cllr Marsh spent three weeks recovering in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital after he was taken ill earlier this month.
Since coming out of hospital he has been ordered to rest up and had his driving licence suspended.
But he is free to start driving again as of tomorrow and will re-start his council work in earnest next week.
Cllr Marsh, 68, said: "I had a very, very slight heart attack that the cardiogram had a hell of a job to find.
"I have been booked in for a minor bypass operation in four months time, but I don't feel that I am an urgent case."
Although he spent three weeks in hospital, he was up and out of bed within two and a half days and has been discussing council matters on the telephone since he returned home
Added Cllr Marsh: "I have already been on to Gloucestershire County Council to talk about the travellers in Dursley."
He should make his return to official duties at the monthly meeting of the town council on Tuesday evening.
