DURSLEY driver Matthew Watts (left) driving his 1965 Brabham BT16 roared back into action at the HSCC Classic Racing Cars Championship first round at Donington at Easter.
He took pole position but a bad start dropped him to third, and after a spin on the first lap put him at the back of the field a spirited drive saw him carve his way through the field to take second place.
Jon Shipman (above), also from Dursley, had a busy day, competing in three races, two of which were hour-long endurance events.
Driving his Alfa Romeo Giulia he competed in the Thorogood GTA Challenge before taking part in the Cloth Cap European Historic Challenge, this time driving a Crossle. His final race of the day was the Top hat European Historic Touring Car Challenge back in the Alfa Romeo.
