HOT DOGS sold out as hundreds flocked to Dursley Primary School's May fair in sizzling summer sunshine. The annual event saw parents, children, staff and visitors flock to Highfields, raising a massive £1,800 for school funds. Children enjoyed a fancy dress parade, with a theme apt for the weather conditions - the seaside. Headteacher Bill Church, who had donned his Mr Punch costume for the day's proceedings, said the School Association had put a lot of time and effort into making the event a success. He said: "I would like to thank the association for all the hard work before the event and everyone for their support on a very hot afternoon." A steady stream of visitors enjoyed the soak-the-sitter attraction and numerous stalls. Mr Church added. "We did an amazing trade in hot dogs, which sold out completely and raised a fantastic amount for school funds." Proceeds will be used to boost school funds for extra equipment and learning tools.
