HERBACEOUS borders are being preened, lawns manicured, and paths swept, in preparation for the hidden gardens of Coombe to open on Sunday, rain or shine.
The event includes entry to ten gardens for a cost of £2.50, with all proceeds to Save the Children Fund. Accompanied children are free.
An appealing variety will be open - from small cottage to larger and more formal gardens - moderately priced teas will also be available.
The event is open from 2pm to 6pm - visitors are asked not to bring dogs.
Tickets in advance are on sale at the Novel Hovel, Market Street, Wotton-under-Edge. On the day tickets can be bought in Coombe village.
One of the organisers, Christine Eccles, said: "This will be the first time the gardens have been opened. There should be something new of interest for everyone."
