School run safe in cars

SIR - In response to the letter last week from a Caring Grandparent regarding too many parents driving their children to school: I have always walked my children to school, not just because of the fitness side but it is also a very good social time to just chat.

However after the car accident the othert week on Wickwar Road. Kingswood, I now feel that I have to drive the third of a mile to school for theirs and my own safety. Another 30 minutes later my children and myself most likely would have been dead having been knocked over.

Maybe the parents she referred to also have this problem!
