THIRTY-FIVE people took part in the guided walk around Stinchcombe Hill organised for Dursley Town Festival on Sunday.
John Smallwood, who is an active member of the Stinchcombe Hill Recreation Trust, led the tour and explained to walkers how the hill has changed over the years and how the trust is working to re-establish the flora of limestone grassland where it has been overgrown by scrub and woodland.
Walkers were able to admire the pyramid orchids in the grassland and also saw marbled white and small skipper butterflies.
John showed festival walkers some of the work, which he and his team had done recently to open up views that had previously become obscured.
Those on the walk were amazed at the impressive view from one glade where you can see almost all of Dursley town set out below.
