Bymacks' site 'unsafe' says the town council

DURSLEY Town Council has again criticised Bymacks' site developers Crest Nicholson for failing to make the site safe.

Councillors received a letter from Stroud District Council at the start of June stating that the developers would begin demolition on June 7.

However, no such action has taken place, meaning that the site is still full of derelict buildings with dangerous combustible materials around them.

Cllr Jim Froggatt said: "Nothing has happened at all. There is no work being done to get the buildings knocked down.

"It is less than a fortnight to the school holidays, so we must pursue the enforcement officers to get them to force Crest Nicholson to knock those buildings down.

Crest Nicholson was unavailable for comment as the Gazette went to press.
