In the defence of Cllr Fowles

SIR - I am writing with regard to the comments made by Cllr Studdert-Kennedy against Cllr Fowles (Gazette, July 9).

When are the Conservative councillors going to stop this vendetta against Cllr Fowles? First it was to do with the council houses prior to the local elections and now this.

Cllr Fowles won the election, for which I congratulate her, and proved the majority of people in Dursley think she is doing a good job. Long may it continue.

If certain Conservative councillors can't handle this, I suggest they consider their own positions and stop trying to blacken the name of a very good councillor.
