Odejayi ready to make a Rovers return

KAYODE ODEJAYI will make an emotional return to The Lawn next Tuesday as new-look Forest Green Rovers' build-up to the season gathers pace, having already played Chalford and Reading.

Rovers will welcome a Southampton side to The Lawn this Friday, with kick-off at 7.45pm, and then local rivals Cheltenham arrive on Tuesday (7.45pm) with former Forest Green striker Odejayi likely to feature during the match.

Odejayi was a popular target man during his time at The Lawn but was sold to John Ward's side last summer.

After struggling to break into the starting line-up at Whaddon Road, 'Big Dave' flourished in the latter stages of the season and expectations are high for him this season. He will though expect stiff competition from former Hereford United striker Steve Guinan.

Meanwhile, midfielder Ben Cleverley will be playing against the side that released him last season.
