Richardson KO rocks Rovers

FOREST GREEN ROVERS captain Jon Richardson is likely to miss the start of the season after damaging his right shoulder in the 1-0 defeat against Reading last week.

Richardson was taken by Forest Green's Club Chiropractor Richard Brown, to Brown's Lansdown Clinic, in Stroud, immediately after the match where x-rays revealed that the key defender had sustained a ligament rupture.

Rovers' medical team of Brown, Doctor Ralph Stephenson and Club Physio Steve Lock will hope to have Richardson available for the opening Conference game with Barnet on August 14.

Brown, who has been practising at Forest Green for eight years, also treats a number of local sporting individuals including Olympic runner Dan Robinson and professional boxer Leigh Alliss as well as being the official club chiropractor for Cheltenham Town.

Meanwhile, Scott Rogers, who is yet to feature, is making steady progress from a back injury and should come into contention before the start of the season.
