SIR - I was interested to read the comments by Chief Supt Ackland in the article about Dursley TETRA mast (Gazette, January 2) suggesting that removal/ switching off of this controversial mast would seriously affect the ability to police in the town and place officers in jeopardy. read more

LOOKING back on the weather in 2003 many may imagine that it was the driest year within recent memory, yet in fact with a rainfall of 31.55init was not as dry as 1996 when rainfall was slightly less with 31.33 inches.
