Actress takes new direction

TALENTED actress Mary Downs is trying her hand in a new role as director of Wotton Dramatic Society's new production.

Waiting in the Wings by Noel Coward will be on stage at Wotton Town Hall from Wednesday, October 27 to Saturday, October 30.

Publicity officer Ann Falcon-Uff said: "Mary Downs has made us laugh in so many of Wotton Dramatic Society plays."

Mary Downs added: ""It's always good to see the things you do from another perspective.

"And this is a play which offers an opportunity for many of our lady members to tread the boards."

Tickets for the play are available from the Cotswold Book Room, Long Street, Wotton - 01453 843140 during shop opening hours.

Following the appeal in the Gazette, the society is grateful to Tristan Holland and Tony Johnson for their help with photography.

The group is now seeking assistance in obtaining a 1950s upright piano - anyone who can help should contact Ann Falcon-Uff on 01453 843789.
