Cam Guides get top award

HOURS of hard work has paid of for two Guides in Cam.

Jenny Hole, 14, and Rebecca Halford, 15, are the first members of the 1st Cam Guides in 21 years to be awarded the Baden-Powell Challenge.

The award is the highest that a guide can be given. To get the award Guides must complete ten challenges including organising and running a competition based on ready, Steady, Cook, designing a poster on a global issue and use it to make a presentation, trying a new adventurous activity and take part in a Beden-Powell Challenge Adventure.

Guide leader Lesley Clements said: "I am very chuffed for them and I am very proud. I have never had any Guides pass this before."

They received their awards from the district commissioner at a guide meeting in September.
