An excellent all-round team performance on Saturday saw Dursley Town record an emphatic 6-1 victory against Kingswood.

The visitors took the lead in the first five minutes when they were awarded a penalty after a push in the penalty area. The impressive Dibden scored from the spot, despite new signing Williams getting a hand to the ball. Dursley soon came back when Phillips tormented the Kingswood full back and then saw his shot go through Rodmans legs, to register his first goal in a Dursley shirt.

Dursley were soon in front when Booth and Gillingham linked up well and Gillingham hit an unstoppable left foot shot into the roof of the net from 25 yards, surely a contender for goal of the season. Town then extended their lead before half time when Ian Beevor scored another of his trade mark headers.

The second half saw Dursley come out in the same mood, quickly forcing a penalty, which the usually reliable Trinder struck against the foot of the post, much to the relief of the visitors. However Dursley were soon 4-1 up when Booth reacted quickest in a goalmouth melee and prodded home from close range. Kingswood then had a good spell of possession but any space in midfield was soon shut down by the hard working Dolbear and Hobbs, Chris Dolbear playing an inspirational captain's role. Antony Nash then added a fifth goal when great approach play by Beevor played him in unselfishly, and the youngster calmly placed the ball past the helpless Rodman. Dursley rounded off a stylish and workmanlike performance when Booth cracked in a spectacular scissor-kick from the edge of the six yard box.

If Dursley continue to play with this attitude and commitment it should be an enjoyable season. Town's man of the match award went to Wayne Hill, who alongside Chris Lindsay put in a very impressive performance.
