O'Neill: We're moving in the right direction

AXA 0 Wotton Rovers 0

NO goals in this game but both sides missed a few easy chances.

But as Wotton manager Jake O'Neill said: "It's still a clean sheet and another point. We are not conceding so we're moving in the right direction. We still have a few players out, what with suspensions and such, and in fact we've not been able to play the same team for some eight weeks."

He volunteered: "We have not made the best of starts to the season but have now crept into the top half, so we are looking OK, especially when players return." O'Neill made particular reference to the recent death of a popular character at the club, 91-year-old stalwart Stuart Holloway.

"He was a popular character and a good servant to the club and he will be sadly missed by Wotton in general and myself in particular."

This Saturday Wotton are at home to Longwell Green Sport in the GFA Trophy, with KO at 2.30pm. The club will be dedicating the match to the memory of life member Stuart Holloway. There will be a minute's silence before the match and the team will wear black armbands in his memory (see main story on page two).
