Hallowe'en fun to aid hospital appeal

THE BERKELEY ARMS in Cam is hosting a Hysterical Hallowe'en Weekend on Saturday and Sunday to raise funds for the Cheltenham General Hospital Cobalt Unit Appeal.

The fun starts with a sponsored 12-hour darts marathon from 9am on Saturday. The final hour of the marathon will be accompanied by karaoke and a charity auction.

On Sunday night there will be a Hallowe'en Party Night with Irish music provided by Pete the Fiddle. Fancy dress is optional and there will be a further charity auction.

The Cobalt Unit Appeal aims to support health authorities in providing facilities for cancer patients.

Future plans include a new clinic to be built at Linton House, Cheltenham, which will house state-of-the-art scanning facilities and provide much-needed space for the Gloucestershire Breast Screening Service.

Event organisers Frank and Christine Smith said: "We are going to have a lot of fun so please come along and help us to raise funds to fight cancer.

"You don't need a ticket, just turn up and join in. If you are shy, wear a mask!"
