A CORONER has appealed for relatives of a 52-year-old homeless man who died in a road accident at Cam to come forward.
Coroner's officer Sue Tideman said that around 11pm on Thursday, July 15, Glyn Russell Davies, of no fixed abode, was walking along the A4135 when he was hit by a vehicle and injured.
He was taken to Cheltenham General hospital where he remained until he died on October 13. He was identified by his fingerprints.
Pathologist Dr Keith McCarthy was unable to ascertain the cause of death at a postmortem two days later.
Costwold Coroner Lester Maddrell, sitting at Cirencester, said: "My office has made efforts to trace this man's relatives. But no relations have yet been found. He is believed to be local.
"It would be very sad if this gentleman's funeral went ahead without his family knowing anything about the fact that he had died."
The inquest was formally opened and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
Anyone who does know anything about Mr Davies' family or friends should call the coroner's office on 01242 221064
