Supermarket will ruin us

SIR - "A town centre supermarket will bring new shopping facilities to the town and attract more people to the town centre," local councillors said in last weeks' Gazette.

What? Even more choice of marshmallows for their high tea? These people would have us consuming more and more for the sake of the economy, ruining the planet in the process and seem hell-bent on turning our beautiful town into another Gloucester.

One councillor recently called Dursley dead. Peaceful is the word I would use and I would like it to stay that way.
