Failed ram-raid has left shop damaged

A RAM-RAID on a shop in Kingshill, Dursley, has led to an appeal for information from police.

Around 2.20am on Friday a vehicle was reversed into the front of Victoria Wine in Kingshill Parade.

It is believed that a white Ford Transit van, which had been stolen from the Fromeside Industrial Estate in Stroud, was used in the incident.

Insp Paul Donovan said: "The glass panels at the front of the shop suffered a lot of damage but the offenders did not gain access to the property and made off in the direction of Cam."

The van was later recovered in Springhill, Cam.

Added Insp Donovan: "We would be interested to hear from anyone who may have seen someone with this vehicle."

The premises have since been temporarily closed and boarded up.

Anyone who has information relating to this incident can call the police on 0845 0901234 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
