Come and drop in, say police

RESIDENTS of Cam, Coaley, Berkeley and four villages in the Vale of Berkeley will have an opportunity to speak to the police on their own doorsteps on Monday.

The East Gloucestershire mobile police station will be making a seven-stop trip to the area so residents can meet up with an officer.

In addition, a representative of Stroud District Council will also be on board to listen to any council issues that people might have, from tax to street cleaning.

PC Reuben Wyatt, the driver of the mobile police station, is inviting residents to come out and meet representatives of the police and the council.

He said: "We encourage the public to call in and see us because this is a golden opportunity for them to speak to Stroud District Council without having to go to Ebley Mill.

"I will also be available for anyone who wants to report a crime or discuss policing issues in their particular town or village."

The mobile police station will start its tour of duty outside the Co-op in Cam at 9.20am.

It will remain there for just under an hour before heading to the village shop in Coaley where it will also stay for around 60 minutes.

At 11.40am the mobile station will pull up outside Slimbridge oOffice, although it will not stay too long as it is scheduled to be by the Co-op in Sharpness by midday.

After that it will head south to Berkeley, where it will be outside the town hall for around an hour from 1pm.

The day will be completed with two stops on the A38 - at the village green in Stone at 2pm and then opposite Damery Lane in Woodford around 2.30pm.
